We all have our ups and downs and so does Grace at the orphanage “Children’s Hope Home” in Kenya. Lucy really needs help…The founder Lucy does all she can to keep the 120 children healthy and well. When a child gets sick she takes them to the hospital in the nearby village.
In Kenya, it is expensive to see a doctor and to get fundamental health care for the children. Since the orphanage can’t pay normal fees, Lucy has to negotiate and ask the other poor village people for help to get the care the child need. Last week Grace came down with the symptoms of high fever, stomach and body ache, she needed a doctor. Since she is HIV positive her immune system is more sensitive to any bacteria, virus, parasite or tropical illness.
Thankfully Lucy could get the money together from loving village people and Grace got the medicine she needed and she is now slowly feeling better. The problem is that the orphanage doesn’t have any backup money for any emergency for the children. We all can make a difference with a small donation each for the kids to feel safe to get help when they are sick. Just imagine if you couldn’t get medical help for your child, what would you do? Ask for help I guess! This is what I am doing on their behalf.
